Cadhay is opening its doors for an afternoon and evening of entertainment for all to enjoy.

The gardens of Cadhay, Ottery St. Mary, will be open from 2pm- 5pm on May 28. There will be delicious cream teas available for the public.

Following a fine summer for growing grapes in the UK, Devon vineyards have a lot to celebrate and an Exeter city centre food store is promoting their success. A range of locally produced Devon wines is being launched at the Real Food Store on Tuesday 19 November with a special wine tasting evening between 6pm and 8pm.

Three vineyards, all within 12 miles of the city, are supplying wine to the community owned store which opened in March 2011. Pebblebed, at Clyst St George, Yearlstone, at Bickleigh, and Manstree based at Shillingford St George.

Investment is on the menu for historic Exeter building and restaurant

A local Exeter restaurant, Harry’s on Longbrook Street, has secured its future through a mortgage from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking after its leasehold was due to expire.

Owner, Samantha Pounds, approached the bank when the owners of the building declared their intention to sell the property and the restaurant’s future was put into question.

With the additional support of £150,000 from the Regional Growth Fund, Samantha was also able to secure future employment opportunities for the local area.

Local vineyards excited about 2013 harvest

It may not be a bumper but local vineyards are excited about a good 2013 harvest.

" We've got good crops on most varieties" says Yearlstone's vineyad manager Roger White. " The sparkling wine grapes are dripping bunches and even our cool climate reds are well laden. Yearlstone is expecting around 10 tons from it's own grapes, compared to a target of 15.
