Cross the threshold of Higher Uppacott, Dartmoor National Park’s Grade 1 Listed longhouse, and step back in time to medieval Dartmoor as part of Heritage Open Days 2014. Tour of Britain to re-visit popular locations

Devon will have featured in The Friends Life Tour of Britain more times than any other venue outside of London when it hosts Stage Five on Thursday 11 September.

'Nine Black Alps' and 'Then Thickens' come to Cavern

On 28 November the Cavern Cub will see two exciting new bands playing in one night. Both 'Nine Black Alps', a grunge-rocker group, and their supporting act, 'Then Thickens', have new singles coming out on 2 December produced by Leeds-based label 'Hatch Records'.

'Nine Black Alps' will coincide their new single with a short run of live dates in November, heading to Exeter, Manchester and London, among other venues. War Graves Tour

On Remembrance Sunday Christine Trigger, assisted by Michael Parrott, will lead a tour of the Higher Cemetery war graves.

This event is organised by Friends of Higher Cemetery.

The walk will commence at 2pm near the Higher Cemetery chapel. There is no charge for this event but any donations will be forwarded to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Daniel O'Donnell cancels Plymouth concert to be with critically ill Father-in-law

This Friday’s Daniel O’Donnell concert at Plymouth Pavilions has been cancelled, along with the remainder of his UK tour.

Unfortunately, Daniel’s Father-in-law is critical in hospital with a suspected brain hemorrhage, and so understandably Daniel has had no choice but to cancel his shows, for which both Daniel and his management offer their sincere apologies.
