Summer fun in Exeter with Exeter City's football roadshows

Bookings are now being taken for Exeter City FC’s Football in the Community roadshows, which are again running throughout the summer holidays across the region.

The events kick off with Match Mania on Friday 26 July, a full day’s festival of fun and games for children aged 5-14, and the programme then continues for the whole of August finishing with a two-day roadshow at St Luke’s Science and Sports College on Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 September.

There will be three roadshow dates in Exeter, plus events in Dawlish, Exmouth, Cullompton, Honiton, Sidmouth, Crediton, Tiverton...

An evocative exhibition of Devon landscapes showing throughout July and August features the work of two photographers, Natalie Christie and Martin Sharpe.

Christie captures landscape through artistic eyes and the selection of her works large and small is stunning, including summer grasses against a stormy sky and crashing waves.

Sharpe’s work is abstract with an emphasis on line, shape, pattern and beautiful spectrums of colour. All of the works are available for sale and can be ordered in different sizes.

Brewin Dolphin host Summer Party in the Bishop’s Palace Gardens, Exeter Cathedral

Over 200 guests joined Brewin Dolphin Exeter at their annual ‘Summer Garden Party’ held at The Bishop’s Palace Gardens, Exeter Cathedral. Representatives from their Charity of the Year, Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education, attended together with clients, professional associates and Exeter Chief players.

The guests were welcomed with a Pimms and champagne reception and musical entertainment was provided by Exeter University’s string quartet.

The national summer Drink Drive campaign is being launched on 1 June and Devon and Cornwall Police are again supporting this initiative.

The primary aim of the campaign is to reduce the number of injuries on the roads where drink or drugs is a factor. The campaign runs from Saturday 1 June to Sunday 30 June.
