An evocative exhibition of Devon landscapes showing throughout July and August features the work of two photographers, Natalie Christie and Martin Sharpe.

Christie captures landscape through artistic eyes and the selection of her works large and small is stunning, including summer grasses against a stormy sky and crashing waves.

Sharpe’s work is abstract with an emphasis on line, shape, pattern and beautiful spectrums of colour. All of the works are available for sale and can be ordered in different sizes.

Natalie Julie Christie

Fine Art Landscape Photographer, BA (Hons) Photographic Practice.

An evocative exhibition of Devon landscapes. The work encompasses the re-tracing of childhood. Her father, Paul Raymond Noble (1947-1999), himself a painter and sculptor, inspired his daughter to 'see' the landscape through artistic eyes. Natalie re-visits the places that he took her to as a child, to capture time standing still and appreciate all that the beauty and wilderness has to offer.

One of the images (shown above), depicting early morning fog, was shortlisted for the BBC2 production of Show Me the Monet in 2012.

Martin Sharpe

Photographer and digital artist, based in Exeter Devon.

Martin's design-led approach to photographic art emphasises simple elements of line, shape, pattern and colour. In recent years, this has developed into a particular focus on abstract work.

Largely self-taught, Martin recognises the visual influences of Bridget Riley and Mark Rothko on his approach. Frequently, his pictures show interpretations of event-straplines, song-titles or common phrases.
