Bradfords Building Supplies has teamed up with the Exeter Chiefs and Somerset County Cricket Club to encourage people to check in on their friends this Men’s Health Week (13-19 June 2022).

Sports stars including Exeter Chiefs RFC and England player, Henry Slade, plus Somerset County Cricket Club captain, Tom Abell, will feature alongside tradesmen in a special video encouraging men to look out for each other.

Analysis during the Olympics in Tokyo has revealed that the UK’s favourite Olympic events are trampolining, mountain biking and skateboarding, based on the search demand for the sports at the summer Games.

In 2021 so far, there has been a total average monthly search volume of 3.19 million for the 46 sports on show, and in June, the Wikipedia pages of all the sports were viewed a total of 1.35 million times, highlighting the vast number of people seeking to learn more about how these Olympic Games will be played.

University of Exeter celebrates partnership with local college 

The Children’s Health and Exercise Research Centre (CHERC), an internationally recognised paediatric research department at the University of Exeter, are celebrating seven years of collaboration with Exmouth Community College.

The partnership, which began in 2014, has enabled pupils to be engaged in a wide variety of research, enabling them to learn first-hand about healthy living.

Work being carried out at Exmouth’s Warren View Sports Ground as part of pioneering sports hub proposals

Investigation work is being carried out at Exmouth’s Warren View Sports Ground by East Devon’s contractor Geotechnics Limited over the next few weeks to give reassurance that the site is suitable for all-weather pitches and other multi-sport facilities.

East Devon District Council is working with the Devon-based charity Exeter CITY Community Trust to develop a pioneering sports hub at the Ground, which is one of a number of sports and recreation sites owned and protected by the council in Exmouth and across the district.

The award-winning South Devon holiday park hosted its first competition on one of its five lakes, Mamhead Match Lake, from 18th – 20th May.
