She achieved global stardom thanks to iconic roles in Gone with the Wind and A Streetcar Named Desire. Now the public can explore how Vivien Leigh had strong links to the South West as well as Hollywood as part of a major new project.

University of Exeter researcher Dr Lisa Stead is working to trace Leigh’s legacy. The work will illuminate new, unseen histories of Leigh's life and career as one of the twentieth century's most iconic female stars and show her connections to Devon. This includes a new interactive website.

Ladram Bay Holiday Park in Devon has struck another blow against engine noise and air pollution by expanding its fleet of all-electric transport.

The family-run park, winner of the David Bellamy Conservation Award, has swapped two more of its fossil fuel vehicles in favour of the latest green technology.

It brings to five the number of electric run-arounds in use at Ladram Bay in Budleigh Salterton, and at its sister-park Castle Brake in Woodbury, near Exeter.

Tech firms in the South West are predicting a strong year of growth in 2020, according to the findings of the annual Tech South West survey.

Tech organisations from Bath, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Somerset took part in the survey.

It revealed that almost two thirds (64.8%) of technology firms in the region expect their company workforce to increase in 2020.

Leading professional services firm, Bishop Fleming has rounded off its centenary year by raising a remarkable £150,000 for charity.

National Trust launches 125th year with beacon lightings

The National Trust will be lighting beacons across the South West on Thursday 9 January as part of a national network of beacons to celebrate 125 years since the conservation charity was founded.

They will be lit at dawn to mark the moment that the charity was founded by Octavia Hill, Sir Robert Hunter and Canon Hardwicke Rawnsley to give people access to nature, to beauty and to history.
