Please join us for the Alphington Garden Trail, taking place on Sunday 17th July, with five gardens and the Ide Lane Allotments opening to the public to raise funds for Rainbow Living.

Combined admission: adults £5 and under 16s free for entrance to all venues. Tickets can be purchased at any garden entrance via cash or card at some venues – please see poster for details. We’ll be selling home-made jams and marmalades + refreshments at some gardens.

Derek Hathaway on returning to Starcross Yacht Club

1,917 mile solo sail around the UK raises over £4,000 for charity

70 year old Derek Hathaway from Exeter has realised his personal challenge to sail solo around the coast of Britain – and including gift aid, raised £4,141.25 for local charity Rainbow Living.

Originally due to depart April 2020, Derek’s plans were put on hold when the UK went into lockdown but with the easing of restrictions earlier this year, he finally set sail on the 20th April.

Rainbow Living announce partnership with Exeter Golf & Country Club

Rainbow Living is very excited to announce the charity has been selected by Exeter Golf and Country Club as the Golf Captains’ Charity of the Year for 2018/19.

Over the next 12 months Exeter Golf and Country Club is aiming to raise £10,000 for Rainbow Living, which is a local volunteer-run charity providing accommodation for adults with learning and other disability. Fundraising has already commenced with the Golf Dinner and Dance event raising £1,000. Many more fundraising events are planned throughout the year, including raffles, auctions and coffee mornings.

Cyclists raise over £5,300 for local charity

A determined team of local people have raised an impressive £5,357 so far, after cycling the length of the country for Exeter-based charity Rainbow Living.

Over 11 days, the team spent an average of 8 hours in the saddle every day as they cycled from John O’Groats to Land’s End; overall they covered 950 miles and climbed over 51,000 feet – and burnt more than 38,000 calories!

The group braved torrential rain and lashing winds; herds of cows, flocks of sheep, punctures, saddle sores and overall tiredness may have slowed them down but they were not deterred during their epic...

Pedal power aiming to raise £5,000 for local charity

A nine-strong team of Devonians are cycling the length of the country to raise funds for Exeter-based charity Rainbow Living.

It’s an eclectic group, ranging from experienced cyclists to complete novices, and including four of pensionable age! Event organiser Curly Wright, a 69 year old pensioner, is joined by Shirley French, 70, a retired senior nurse who is in remission from cancer, and former Devon and Cornwall Police Officer Terry Windeatt, 70.

Rainbow Living’s Treasurer Ruth Airdrie has attended Buckingham Palace for her MBE investiture ceremony.

Ruth was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen’s Birthday 2017 Honours list, in recognition of the voluntary work she has undertaken for Rainbow Living over the last 11 years.

Charity bike sale

A second-hand bike sale is set to raise funds for Rainbow Living, thanks to the fantastic efforts of a supporter of the Exeter-based charity.

On Saturday 18th November, Curly Wright will be selling refurbished bikes and donating all proceeds from the sale of these bikes to Rainbow Living.

Rainbow House Three opens in Exeter!

Following four years of fundraising, planning and renovation, local charity Rainbow Living has officially celebrated completion of their third Rainbow House by opening the house up for a special preview.
