Tickets to be launched for sell-out ideas festival

Organisers of TEDxExeter, the South West’s leading ideas festival, have announced that tickets for TEDxExeter 2020 are soon to be released for sale. The 9th annual TEDxExeter event will take place on Friday 17 April 2020 at Exeter’s Northcott Theatre and will be simultaneously livestreamed to venues across the city and beyond.

Tickets, which usually sell out in minutes, will be released at 10am on Friday 29th November 2019 via Eventbrite. For those wishing to beat the queues, a limited number of VIP tickets will be available from 10am on Wednesday 27th November.

Volunteers knit 1,500 cupcakes for Exeter panto

Back in July, the Northcott Theatre in Exeter appealed for volunteers to knit 1,000 cupcakes to be used in performances of our pantomime Dick Whittington.

The show, co-written by leading panto director Tony Lidington with Steve Bennett, who plays Dame Sarah Suet, marks a return to panto for the first time in eight years at the Northcott.

Knitters across Devon answered the call and surpassed expectations by downloading the Dick Knittington pattern and producing an amazing 1,456 of the woolly fancies.

Exeter Northcott Theatre is today (NOV 2nd) celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The theatre opened on the 2nd November 1967 with a production of The Merchant of Venice, starring its first Artistic Director, Tony Church.

Broadcaster and writer Jonathon Maitland is to debut his new production Dead Sheep at Exeter Northcott Theatre.
