Diners treated to culinary masterclass

Diners were treated to another culinary masterclass as Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines MBE joined forces with Sandy Park Head Chef Denis Turner for a mouth-watering Gourmet Evening at Sandy Park.

Held in aid of the official Exeter Chiefs’ Charity, the Exeter Foundation, the evening raised a staggering £3,750 and once again highlighted the work of the charity to the assembled guests.

The Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink is launching brand new wine and cheese tastings for food lovers at the annual event in Exeter Castle and Northernhay Gardens from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th April 2016.

The wine and cheese tastings will combine expert tutorage on the skill of food and drink matching with the chance to appreciate four wines and four regional cheeses.

World's smallest RWC museum opens in Exeter

The world’s smallest museum dedicated to the Rugby World Cup in Exeter has been opened by two of the Exeter Chiefs stars who played a part in the 2015 tournament.

Hooker Elvis Taione and full-back Chrysander Botha helped to remember last year’s global tournament coming to the city, when they helped to officially open the museum, which is in the boardroom of Exeter PR, marketing and design firm Astley Media.

In the eyes of millions, Sandy Park and the City of Exeter were showcased in all its glory as five different countries battled for honours during three games.

Exeter’s annual food and drink festival continues to go from strength to strength with tickets for the 13th year selling fast.

Returning to Exeter Castle and Northernhay Gardens from 22-24 April, the Festival attracts more than 100 artisan food and drink producers from the region selling delicious south west meat, cheeses, bread, cider, wine, beer, oils, cakes and much more.

Michael Caines, Paul Ainsworth and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall were among the 13 winners in this year’s Food Reader Awards, one of the largest and most highly acclaimed annual events in the South West calendar.

The awards were launched by Salt Media five years ago through its publication Food magazine with the aim of celebrating the very best restaurants, cafes, pubs, chefs, producers, retailers, cookery schools and bloggers in the South West.

Exeter Foundation Gourmet Evening returns

Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines MBE will once again be teaming up with Sandy Park’s Head Chef Denis Turner in the Sandy Park kitchen in March, for the second Gourmet Evening in aid of the Exeter Foundation.
