The Artisan Market returns to Seaton over the early Bank Holiday weekend with a mix of stalls selling the very best quality art and craft items, upcycled gifts and handmade homeware on Saturday 5th May from 10am to 3pm.

The free, open air Artisan market hosts a wide variety of unusual and unique products made in Devon, Dorset and Somerset. Expect to find wood carvings, soft furnishings, tailor made clothing, handmade jewellery, glass ware and delicious food.

A trip to Newton Abbot’s markets turned into a Christmas surprise for one lucky Teignbridge resident.

Nicola Ryan from Newton Abbot was drawn as the winner of a £100 Christmas hamper packed full of festive goodies supplied by Bakers the Butcher, Stonemans Deli and Home Bake - from Newton Abbot's Indoor Market. A popular annual event on the market calendar, the competition saw market shoppers completing an entry form for a chance to win the fantastic festive prize.

Saucy Clover takes top spot at Exeter and District Primestock Christmas Show

TOP honours at the 36th Exeter and District Primestock Christmas Show, held at Exeter Livestock Market, went to home-bred British Blue cross heifer “Saucy Clover”, shown by Paul and Lin Calcraft from Payhembury, Honiton.

It was the fifth time the couple had claimed the supreme championship at the show in seven years.

Saucy Clover, by well-known sire Drift Domini, was born on January 4, 2016 and weighed in at 658 kilos. The heifer went on to top the sale at £2,632 (400ppk), purchased by Darts Farm Master Butchers at Topsham.

Armed officers to patrol key festive locations across Devon

Police in Devon, Cornwall and Dorset will be patrolling key locations and events over the festive period and the New Year with support from armed officers.
