This is a coup for the Beehive in booking one of the great Americana bands. An 8 piece line up featuring pedal steel guitar, fiddles and horns fronted by founder, and lead vocalist Ray Benson, a big presence and a big voice to match. The band were featured on the first ever episode of Austin City Limits and have appeared eleven times since. Their history - 10 Grammy Awards, Country Music Association Touring Band of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award by the Americana Music Association. Honiton auction house, Chilcotts, has announced its fifteenth year in business as the ‘best ever’ as the family-run business prepares for major change in the near future.

After running a variety of celebration events to mark the anniversary, the icing on the cake was the realisation that not only was 2019 the most successful year in terms of trading, with auction turnover increasing by 6 percent against the 1.2 percent increase in overall UK trade figures, but also that the November 30 sale was the highest selling single auction yet.

Honiton’s Gate to Plate event is making a welcome return to the town on Saturday 10 August.

Featuring around 50 fine food, drink and craft producers, there will also be cookery demonstrations by some of the area's top chefs and food experts who will be presenting their work in an on-street show kitchen.

The free event will continue the town’s wonderful and long established market tradition, which dates back to the 13th Century when Honiton was granted a Royal Charter to hold a market.

Co Bikes are coming to Cranbrook and Honiton train stations

Two busy Devon railway stations, Cranbrook and Honiton, are to benefit from the installation of Co Bikes electric bike stations, allowing for seamless – and zero carbon – onward commuting options.

Police are appealing for information after items of jewellery were stolen from a house in Hale Lane, Honiton.

Offenders forced a ground floor window to get inside the property sometime between 10am and 1.35pm on Friday 31 May.

Numerous items of jewellery were taken from the property including a silver Pandora necklace with diamonds, a silver Armani watch, a gold cross diamond necklace, a silver link bracelet, a black and white diamond necklace and a gold and silver ladies watch.
