More teams and players needed for ECFC community leagues

Did you know that Exeter City's Football in the Community Trust runs many different football leagues here in Exeter?

We are always looking for new teams - or individuals - to join us. There’s something for everyone - and if there isn’t, why not give us a call and we’ll see what we can do?

For some youngsters, their experience of school can put them off the idea of further education after GCSEs altogether - even if they have the ability to progress their academic studies.

Now Exeter City FC is offering an exciting new opportunity for 16 and 17 year olds - male and female - to pursue a Futsal and Education scholarship with the club, allowing youngsters to study a Level 3 BTEC diploma as well as playing futsal.

Community Trust keen to build on success of Futsal tournament

There was success for Newtown FC at the inaugural men’s Futsal Masters competition last weekend, run by Exeter City FC’s Community Charitable Trust. Twelve teams entered the competition at St Peter’s C of E School in Quarry Lane, Heavitree, with Newtown FC running out 3-1 winners by beating North Tawton FC in the final.

A new Junior Futsal course is being launched in Exeter, giving young footballers in the city a chance to hone their football skills in the fast-paced indoor game. Exeter City Football Club is running the new course for children aged 7 – 14 over four weekly sessions in November and December, beginning on Friday 11th January.

Futsal is a small-sided, indoor game which is growing in popularity both as an excellent way of improving football skills and as a fun, exciting game in its own right.

More teams needed for New Futsal League

Exeter’s first ever futsal league has got off to a flying start - so much so that a new league is starting next month after much interest was shown in the short taster league, which finishes soon.

The competition has been set up to raise awareness of the benefits of playing futsal as opposed to traditional five-a-side football, and the Football in the Community Charity is looking for more five-a-side teams to join the men’s league in Exeter.

Training Session for new BTEC Futsal Scholarship Announced

Exeter City’s Football in the Community Charity is inviting potential recruits to the BTEC Futsal and Education programme which starts in September to attend a training day next month.

The first training session will be held during half term, on Tuesday 19 February, at Exeter University, which will provide youngsters with an introduction to the game of futsal.
