Training Session for new BTEC Futsal Scholarship Announced

Exeter City’s Football in the Community Charity is inviting potential recruits to the BTEC Futsal and Education programme which starts in September to attend a training day next month. 

The first training session will be held during half term, on Tuesday 19 February, at Exeter University, which will provide youngsters with an introduction to the game of futsal. The session will also provide the scholarship coaches with an opportunity to work with potential students for the first time. 

This exciting new opportunity enables 16 and 17 year olds - male and female - to pursue a Futsal and Education scholarship with the club, allowing youngsters to study a Level 3 BTEC diploma as well as playing futsal. Attending the session doesn’t commit potential students to pursuing the course further, so why not come along?

The club is aiming to encourage youngsters to remain engaged with education by running this fully accredited Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Sport, which is equivalent to three A Levels and opens up the possibility of a university education afterwards. 

The course, which is registered with Exeter College, is based at St James Park in the Grecian Centre, which is a non-traditional learning environment within the football stadium and throughout the scholarship programme students will have the opportunity to earn qualifications that will help them gain employment in the sport and leisure industry, as well as training and competing in a professional futsal environment for Exeter City FC against other clubs from the Football League.

Time: 11.00 – 1.00pm, please arrive at 10:45am prompt.

Cost: FREE

Please can you ensure that on the day you bring a snack, plenty of fluids and outdoor playing kit including shin pads.
