A new Junior Futsal course is being launched in Exeter, giving young footballers in the city a chance to hone their football skills in the fast-paced indoor game. Exeter City Football Club is running the new course for children aged 7 – 14 over four weekly sessions in November and December, beginning on Friday 11th January.

Futsal is a small-sided, indoor game which is growing in popularity both as an excellent way of improving football skills and as a fun, exciting game in its own right.

The nature of the game places a large emphasis on technical skill and ability in situations of high pressure, which makes it an excellent way to develop football techniques that can be translated into the 11-a-side game.

Many of the world's top footballers played Futsal in their youth and credit it with supporting their footballing development.

South American legends Pele, Zico, Ronaldinho, Kaka and Lionel Messi and European stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas and many others have all played Futsal to develop their skills.

The new Junior Futsal course will run from 6-7pm on Friday 11th, 18th, 25th January and 1st, 8th, 15th February at St James High School sports hall. It is open to children aged 7-14, and costs £3 per session.
