The 3rd Velo Vintage Occasion & Ride starts and finishes in Exmouth on Saturday 15 June 2013.

Velo Vintage is a father and son partnership run by Alistair and Sebastian Cope who both live in East Devon. Their motto “Time to cycle, converse, take tea and dress with style” describes very well their two previous events held during 2012 that proved to be a feast for your eyes.

Firefighters visit boat owners during Boat Safety Week (25-31 May)

Devon has a variety of waterways from marinas, canals, lakes, coastal inlets, harbours and quays. Throughout Boat Safety week 25- 31 May, firefighters will be handing out leaflets and talking to boat owners to ensure they make vital safety checks, helping them to protect themselves, their passengers as well as their boat.

Beer children choose their exciting new play equipment

A much anticipated revamp of an uninspiring playpark in Beer has taken a step closer to completion as local children have chosen their favourite design.

Beer Parish Council and East Devon District Council have been working closely together and with local people to make £17,500 worth of eagerly anticipated improvements to the Ash Hill play area. £7,500 has been contributed by developers through Section 106 funding for play.

This type of contribution was a condition of planning approval for a number of developments in the area. Beer Parish Council then successfully applied...

As the Exmouth Festival well and truly got under way all over Exmouth, visitors to Exmouth and residents alike were enjoying some spring sunshine in traditional fashion.

Monday's festivities will include James Bartholomew, Budleigh Ukulele Strumming Club, Falling Trees, and Exeter-based retro indie/shoegaze band whose debut CD ‘The Memories That Hold Us together’, received widespread critical acclaim.

A la Ronde is delighted to be hosting an exhibition of Mick Abbott’s paintings, many of which were inspired by items within the A la Ronde collection.

Mick Abbott is a full time artist, dividing his time between Cambridge, Brittany and New York. He was an art teacher at Comberton Village College, Cambridge for 22 years and loved it. Council expands innovative project to help residents affected by welfare reform

An innovative scheme developed by Devon County Council to support residents affected by the government welfare reforms is being extended.

Delivered by the Council’s Library Service, the pioneering ‘Free Fridays’ scheme has been piloted in three towns across Devon and has proved so successful it is now being expanded to include a further eight.

Stars shine at fun-filled walk for Hospiscare

More than 400 women from Exeter, Mid and East Devon gathered in Exmouth at the weekend wearing flashing bunny ears to enjoy a night out with the girls while walking 12k for Hospiscare.

The Starlight Walk is one of the charity’s biggest annual events and this year the women enjoyed a new route that took them along the seafront and out into the Exmouth Countryside.

The evening began at Exmouth Rugby Club where the women enjoyed a warm-up session given by a Zumba instructor, Debra from Zumba Exmouth, with players from the club joining in to show their support.
