Exmouth RNLI called to distressed yacht

Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew launched to an incident this afternoon involving a 23ft yacht in Lyme Bay.

At 1.05pm today Monday 16 August 2021, H.M. Coastguard tasked Exmouth RNLI All Weather Lifeboat R & J Welburn to attend a report of a 23 foot yacht in difficulties with engine failure and emanating smoke at a position approximately 10 miles off Exmouth, in Lyme Bay. It was Exmouth RNLI’s fourth emergency tasking in the last few days.

Exmouth RNLI called to two people stranded by the tide

At 6:17pm today Saturday 10 July 2021 Exmouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat D-805 George Bearman II were tasked by H.M. Coastguard to attend to two individuals and a dog who had become trapped by the tide between Orcombe Point and Sandy Bay, Exmouth.

The RNLI Inshore Lifeboat launched at 6.29pm, crewed by Helm, Roy Stott and volunteer crew James Searle and Ed Thomas and quickly made their way to the scene. They made contact with the casualties and took them on board the lifeboat.

The lifeboat returned to Exmouth where the casualties were safely put ashore at 6.45pm. None suffered...

Exmouth RNLI search for missing Paddle boarder

At 6:29pm today Sunday 4 July 2021 both Exmouth RNLI Lifeboats were tasked by H.M. Coastguard to search for a missing paddleboarder between Straight Point to east of Budleigh Salterton.

Exmouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat D-805 George Bearman II launched at 6.37pm, crewed by Harry Griffin, Henry Mock, Ed Thomas and Mark Cockman. The lifesavers commenced a detailed shoreline search from Straight Point to east of Budleigh Salterton.

Exeter pirate enthusiasts on the rampage for Exmouth RNLI appeal

A group of pirate enthusiasts from Exeter led by Cap’n Queeg, plan to go on a fundraising tour of the city for their local lifeboat station on 19 September.

For the fourth year running, the pirates are due to embark on a pub crawl of Exeter, this year raising money for Exmouth RNLI’s launch and recovery vehicle appeal. Taking place on Thursday 19 September, which is International Talk like a Pirate Day, the city fundraisers are inviting people to join them along the route. Exmouth RNLI to host Jurassic Classic Mini Rally

For the third year running, Exmouth RNLI will be the hosts at the finish line of the Classic Jurassic Mini Club’s Mouth 2 Mouth rally on 15 September. The club plan to raise money towards Exmouth RNLI’s launch and recovery vehicle appeal.

Starting from Weymouth Pavilion in the morning, the enthusiasts will take a tour of Portland before heading along the scenic Jurassic Coast, westwards. The first Minis are due to arrive at the lifeboat station on Queens Drive from 1pm onwards. Exmouth Town Council are supporting the event and the Minis are intending to park in Foxholes car park,...

Exmouth RNLI volunteers prepare for Open Day

The biggest event on the Exmouth Lifeboat Fundraising Team’s calendar, the lifeboat station Open Day will take place on Sunday 18 August this year. Situated on Queens Drive, the event will be held between 10am and 4pm.

Dedicated volunteers are currently busy organising stalls, raffle prizes and making produce to sell in order to raise money towards the launch and recovery vehicle appeal. As the new Shannon-class lifeboat is due early next year, this will be an opportunity to raise a large chunk of the £90,000 remainder needed for the vehicle.

Dave's sail success for Exmouth RNLI appeal

Volunteer Deputy Launching Authority, Dave Ashman has raised £605.89 for Exmouth RNLI’s latest appeal. Dave took part in the Eddystone Pursuit sailing event on 13 July, off the Plymouth coast.

The fundraising total consisted of £400.18 sponsorship and £205.71 prize money from the annual competition. The Eddystone Pursuit was set up in 2002 by Julia Creeke, in memory of her Mother to generate money for worthy causes. This year, the competition raised £63,471 for 35 charities.

Woman's body found at the foot of cliffs in Lympstone

Exmouth Coastguard report that a full team were called to action at 7.56pm last night following the report of a person found at the foot of cliffs, just North of Darlings Rock, Lympstone.

The Coastguard reported on Facebook: "As we arrived on the scene it was confirmed by Paramedics and Police that the person was deceased.

"After Police had concluded their on scene investigations and due to the state of the tide, Exmouth Coastguards requested Exmouth Inshore Lifeboat to assist with the Recovery of the deceased.

"Our thoughts are with her family at this time."...
