Elderly man seriously assaulted in Exminster

Police in Teignbridge are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault on an elderly man in Exminster on Thursday 11 December between 6.15pm and 7pm.

It appears that the victim was approached by a man or group of men who asked him what was in his shopping bag before assaulting him and stealing money from the victim. One of the suspects is described as having a blue tattoo on his hand or forearm.

Exmouth Town win rearranged friendly

Town followed up a respectable league draw against Launceston on Saturday with a clinical win in this midweek friendly against lower division opponents.

Residents of Exminster are being asked for their views on a new plan that will help shape their village.

Exminster Parish Council has prepared a Neighbourhood Plan with the help of the local community and it is now available for others to comment on.

A Neighbourhood Plan is a way of helping local communities to guide and influence future development of the place in which they live and work. It can be used help choose where new homes, shops, businesses and other development should be built and identify and protect important local green spaces.

Car left severely damaged after Exminster fire

A car has been severely damaged after being found on fire by Middlemoor firefighters yesterday ( Saturday 31st May).

An appliance from Middlemoor was called to Kenn Lane in Exminster, following a report of a car on fire outside a property.

Upon arrival, at 4.49pm,crews confirmed a vehicle on fire in a very narrow lane which they set to work extinguishing using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.

The cause of the fire was accidental which resulted in the car being severely damaged by fire which also caused some damage to the highway surfacing.

NHS Trust destroy home of nature to gain planning permission in Exminster

This morning the RSPB sent a formal letter of complaint to the bosses Devon NHS concerning the willful destruction of land near Exminster.

Hillcrest is home to a population of Cirl Buntings, a bird so nationally important and rare to find. The RSPB, a charity in support of finding nature a home, believe this is a deliberate opportunity to reduce the nature conservation value of the land which in turn will gain planning permission for new development.

Popular bus service extended to operate seven days a week

Devon County Council is funding improved services for a cross-city bus route which links Exminster to Exeter.

Bus Service B, operated under contract to the County Council by Stagecoach, was extended earlier this year to provide a six days a week, all day connection between Exminster, Matford Business Park, Marsh Barton, the city centre, Pinhoe and Exeter Business Park.

Passed away at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital on 3rd January 2014 aged 93 years, formerly of The Manor, Exminster.
