Police are appealing for information after the windscreen of a coach, carrying children, was damaged by a cup thrown from a car near Exeter.

The Hamilton Gray coach was travelling on the A379 Dawlish Road, near Exminster, at 4.10pm on Wednesday 8 July when the cup was thrown from a small red vehicle that was also moving at the time.

The windscreen of the Volvo coach smashed, with glass showering the driver and passengers, who were children. No-one was injured as a result of the incident.

Scenes of Crime Officers are examining the remains of the cup to see if there are any forensic lines of enquiry.

Sergeant Mark Ruston, Neighbourhood Team Leader, said: “This was an extremely dangerous incident that could have had very serious consequences and put other road users at risk.

"The driver and passengers could have been injured and it could have caused the coach to crash.

“Fortunately no-one was injured but were are keen to speak to the person responsible or anyone who may have witnessed the incident.”
