Stephens Scown advises on completion of South Crofty acquisition

Leading South West law firm Stephens Scown LLP has advised Canadian company Strongbow Exploration Inc on the completion of the acquisition, from administration, of the South Crofty tin mine in Cornwall. The deal, which was completed on 11 July, gives Strongbow Exploration Inc, a 100% interest in the South Crofty Tin Project and associated mineral rights. The South Crofty Tin Project is located in the towns of Pool, Camborne and Redruth and has an active mine permit valid until 2071, subject to certain planning conditions being met. An evening filled with designer fashion, fizz and more!

Fifty ladies flocked to the Mercure Southgte Hotel in July to enjoy a catwalk show full of pre-loved designer items, courtesy of Tags-On.com and local all-female network, Ladies Do. Brands on display included Versace, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and many more.

Guests were also able to browse and purchase items at the pop-up shop, as well as have their hair done by Centre Stage and sample a variety of Arbonne products.

Volunteers needed for Exeter Race for Life

Exeter's men and women are being urged to step forward in the fight against cancer by volunteering at Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life Pretty Muddy. New women only marathon announced for Devon

A new women-only marathon has been announced for Devon in 2017 to mark the 50th anniversary of a famous incident which helped pave the way for women to be able to officially take part in marathons.

The Women Can marathon on 28 May 2017 is almost entirely off-road, taking in the breathtaking Otter and Sid Valleys and part of the South West Coast Path on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site in East Devon.

Largely rural, the course also includes picturesque Devon villages and the towns of Sidmouth and Ottery St Mary.

Young people in Devon will be working with professional artists to explore new innovations in digital media. Daisi is celebrating its success in receiving an Arts Council England Grants for the Arts award for the project, Art Machina. With the £47,582 award, the research and development project will develop digital arts practice using innovative digital media. The Bear Trail set to get kids back in the great outdoors

Devon's latest outdoor adventure centre, The Bear Trail, is celebrating its official Opening Day on Saturday 23rd July. The Bear Trail is an innovative and challenging outdoor adventure trail set over a 10 acre site in Wescott, near Cullompton, which features over 16 separate obstacles where children (and adults!) can run, jump and climb their way across zig-zag bridges, high nets and bear-infested mud pits.

Waldrom delighted to agree new Chiefs deal

Thomas Waldrom says he will look to play his part in driving Exeter Chiefs forward after he today agreed terms on a new contract extension with the Aviva Premiership club.

The 33-year-old forward is the latest member of Rob Baxter’s first team squad to commit their future to the Sandy Park outfit, extending his stay in Devon until the end of the 2017/18 season.

The TechExeter Conference at the University of Exeter on the 8th October is shaping up to be one of the biggest tech events in the region.

Kris Sum, TechExeter leader says "Whether you’re passionate about augmented reality, debugging node.js, or designing artificial intelligence, we’d like to hear from you!"
