Berloni’s Concept Design Store will open on the 30th September on Princesshay’s Roman Walk offering customers a unique service for kitchen design.

Thomas Westcott raises hundreds for Devon Air Ambulance

A cheque for more than £460 has been handed to the Devon Air Ambulance charity by Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants.

The money, totalling £462.85, was raised by the independent accountancy firm during its partners' attendance at agricultural fairs in Devon over the summer, including Holsworthy, Honiton, Okehampton, North Devon and Axe Vale.

Fore Street celebrates first successful flea market

On Sunday 18th September the Fore Street Collective hosted their very first Fore Street Flea Market, an event that saw the street closed to traffic to make way for a wonderful array of stalls and activity.

The local West Quarter traders took their chance to spread their wares on to the street, with many of the shops opening additional Sunday hours to capture the swarms of regular and new customers exploring the area. Long standing Fore Street favourite The Real McCoy specially hosted one of their legendary £1 yard sales, filling the McCoy’s arcade with hoards of happy bargain...

On Saturday 8th October, Waterstones at Roman Gate will celebrate the launch of its new bookshop café with a day of family entertainment.

The launch will be a community event with the opportunity for customers to meet some of the café’s local suppliers and to enjoy a free hot drink with every cake purchase*. Roman Legionaries will patrol the bookshop courtesy of Living History Group Leg II Avg and popular local jazz quartet City Steam Jazz Band will perform live instore. Cleaning company director found guilty of fraud

A company director who offered to clean carpets in Devon and West Sussex at rock-bottom prices before hiking them up by 1,000 per cent has been found guilty of fraud.

At Exeter Crown Court on Friday 23 September, Adam Joseph Vallier, 34, of Hannington Road, Pokesdown, Bournemouth, was convicted of misleading consumers following a five-day trial.

The successful prosecution follows an investigation by Devon and Somerset Trading Standards Service.

Vallier traded under A Star Carpet Cleaning Ltd and Premier Carpet Cleaning Ltd from addresses in Dorset and Bournemouth...

RD&E Trust Chairman supports need for big changes in NHS in Devon

Speaking at the Royal Devon & Exeter’s NHS Foundation Trust’s (RD&E) Annual Members’ Meeting on Saturday 24 September, Trust Chairman, James Brent, highlighted the need for changes to be made to the way in which care is delivered in Devon but also said that people will need to take greater responsibility for their own health and well-being.

Police seek witness to incident in Exeter

Police in Exeter have released the image of a man they wish to identify as they believe he may have witnessed a crime in the City Centre.

Detective Constable Mark Nagle, said: “Just after midnight on Friday the 16th of September, we responded to reports of two men on bicycles in Bampfylde Street in Princesshay, Exeter acting in a threatening manner.

“One of these men was seen to point what was believed to be a handgun and threatened a passer-by.
