The Tesco Extra store in Exeter Vale has lent a helping hand to the Amber Music Project Programme by donating £1,000. The Amber Foundation’s ‘Amber Music Project’ (AMP) will offer homeless and unemployed young people at their residential centre in Chawleigh the chance to work with a range of freelance and local musicians. The sessions will give young people new skills and experience as well as a positive creative focus to support them to manage their emotions and build their resilience. The Fry Group, a financial adviser specialising in tax, wealth and estate planning for high net worth individuals, has expanded into new offices in Exeter. The company, which has operated an office in Exeter for 48 years, has now moved to more modern premises in Southernhay Gardens.

The offices at Southernhay Gardens offer a more contemporary and enhanced working environment, along with improved meeting room space. All of the Exeter office staff have now been relocated to the new office.

Princesshay has today announced local charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) as its 2017 charity partner.

Each year the shopping destination supports a different local charity. This year Princesshay hopes to help raise awareness that CHSW are the children’s hospice for local families in the Exeter area, through fundraising and events.

Devon tech entrepreneur Nick Ellison is launching the UK’s first dedicated video creators academy Tubers in Exeter on 4 February. The Tubers studios will be opening their doors on Sat 4 Feb from 10-4pm for parents and young people to come along and see what is in store.

Appeal after Dawlish man sprayed in face with chemicals

At around 2.30pm on Monday 30 January 2017, two men approached a man in his 50s, close to the junction with Lawn Hill and The Strand.

The man, who is an employee of a nearby shop, was taking the weekend takings to be banked. He was sprayed in the face with a substance and the cash was stolen by these two men.

The offenders made their way from the scene on foot, running up Lawn Hill, turning left on to High Street before turning right again and running up Orchard Gardens. The offenders were followed by one or two young men on push bikes.

The survey will highlight the current financial and employment situation in Exeter.

New Devon renal unit officially opened

Patients in North Devon can now access a brand new renal facility in Barnstaple to undergo their life-saving kidney dialysis treatment.

The opening of the satellite renal unit was officially marked by staff and patients from the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E) and partner Fresenius Medical Care at an event to celebrate the project’s completion.
