The V&A presents David Bowie is happening now , a nationwide cinema event screened live from David Bowie is as the finale to the enormously successful exhibition.

This unique event will be your last opportunity to experience the V&A’s exhibition in the UK before it goes on international tour and is being screened at the Exeter Picuturehouse on Tuesday 13 August at 7pm.

Imaginative writing workshop at A la Ronde

Why not take advantage of a long summer evening by attending an imaginative writing workshop at A la Ronde?

The workshop, held from 5.30pm to 8.30pm on Thursday 4 July, is led by short story writer, Meredith Miller.

Fiction and fiction and non-fiction prose is the focus and Meredith hopes to use the unique history of the property as a starting point to inspire writers of all levels to develop their voice and use their imagination. To get those literary and creative thought processes flowing there will be a pre-workshop guided tour of the house at 4pm.

A new treatment is being offered at the Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital to help people who suffer from an overactive bladder.

Paignton Zoo’s Great Gorillas Project is well under way. And for two local artists, the rivalry is personal.

Husband and wife artists Deborah Treliving and Malcolm Law are going head-to-head. Malcolm is creating Cool Ice Cream Bananas Gorilla for the Princesshay Shopping Centre in Exeter, while Deborah is painting Hippocampus Guttulatus Gorilla on behalf of Cavanna Homes.

David Pett who took on a pioneering ecumenical role to support rural churches in West Devon is off to pastures new.

Copplestone Primary has been judged as outstanding for the third time in succession.
