The government has rejected an offer of £24.1m, the private security group G4S has claimed it owes after over-charging for the tagging of offenders.

It is thought that the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has turned down the payment whilst working with G4S to establish how much the company owes the Government.

An internal review by G4S concluded that the overcharging was not due to “dishonesty or criminal conduct.

Also released today is a National Audit Office report into private security groups responsible for electronic tagging which included a forensic audit by...

Shoemark seeks improvements

Jason Shoemark has warned Exeter Chiefs can ill afford to make the same mistakes as they made at Bath on Sunday when Aviva Premiership leaders Saracens arrive in Devon this weekend (3pm). The Chiefs saw their recent winning streak come to an abrupt halt as Westcountry rivals Bath secured a 37-15 victory in the club's second LV= Cup fixture of the season. It was a disappointing outcome for the visitors, who were always up against it after leaking two converted tries inside the opening four minutes at the Recreation Ground. Although the Chiefs were much improved as the game went on -...

The polling, released during Mouth Cancer Action Month, by the Association of Dental Groups (ADG), the professional body representing private and corporate dental practices, also showed that 96 per cent of GPs based in...

The Waxroom

Imagine Led Zeppelin playing Bee Gees songs with sponge guitars. That’s almost, but not quite entirely unlike The Waxroom” Occasionally Trousers Magazine

Following their Prague debut in 2007, The WaxRoom have established firm roots in the Southwest, delighting audiences with their mixture of power and poetry. Inspired by absinthe and driven by a love of melody, the Waxies take the post-punk pop song to new levels, by turns abstract and gritty, gentle and bruising. Like a steel fist in a velvet glove, Simon Pring’s effortless vocals soar, glide and swoop while...
