Lunch with a view for city professionals

Around 22 members of the Gilbert Stephens Lunch Club enjoyed a two-course luncheon at Côte Brasserie, enjoying a spectacular view over a sun-drenched Cathedral Green.

This was the biggest turnout to date for the bi-monthly event, which is organised by the Devon-based law firm and held at various venues in and around Exeter. The informal networking lunch brings together professionals from around the city.

Topping Out at Exwick

Cornerstone celebrated reaching roof stage on their latest affordable housing development on Friday.

The development, at Ennerdale Way in Exwick, comprises four one bed and five two bed flats at affordable rents for local people registered on Devon Home Choice.

The topping out was celebrated on the roof with bubbly and doughnuts.

The development is expected to be completed in April 2014 and has been made possible with grant funding from the Homes & Communities Agency.

Weekly benefits advice in East Devon

East Devon District Council is launching a series of regular advice surgeries where residents who have queries about Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support can get help and guidance.

Warning to take care on roads and coast paths

Devon County Council is urging people to take care on the county’s roads and coast paths over the weekend.

Almost 5 miles (7.6km) of the south west coast path between Axmouth and near to the Devon/Dorset border at Lyme Regis has been shut this afternoon due to damage to the path caused by an active landslip.

Notices have been placed on site in liaison with the land managers, Natural England, and the path will be closed until further notice. The County Council will be investigating with Natural England what remedial works can be undertaken or whether an alternative route can...
