Devon Wildlife Trust is running its first weekend Milling Morning of the year at its Cricklepit Mill home on Exeter’s quayside. The aim of the event is to give people an exclusive look at a grist mill in action right in the heart of the city.

Police are investigating following the shooting of a peregrine falcon. The peregrine falcon was found on Monday (5th May) in the Seaton area of East Devon with injuries were consistent with the peregrine having been shot.
The peregrine was found with an injury to its wing and unfortunately could not be saved.
Birds of prey such as the peregrine are a protected species which means it is illegal to harm or kill them.
Anyone convicted of harming a falcon can be fined up to £5,000 and jailed for up to six months.

The bid for £12,500 funded a series of ‘boxes’ containing kit for a wide range of activities, such as the film-making and screening ‘box’, including items like camcorders, laptops, microphones, projector and tripods. Police in Barnstaple have released a picture of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an alleged arson attack at Fishleigh Rock Service Station, Umberleigh, north Devon, in the early hours of Monday 21 April. Police need help from the public to identify the man shown in CCTV footage in order to assist with ongoing enquiries. Exeter Chiefs players, school children and city representatives revealed a giant calendar at Sandy Park yesterday (Tuesday May 6) to mark 500 days to go to Rugby World Cup 2015.
The calendar revealed the date when tickets for all 48 matches, including three fixtures at Sandy Park, will go on sale to the general public: September 12, with the application window closing on September 29, 2014. Around 1,200 streetlights in residential streets in St Thomas and Exwick will be converted to part-night lighting this week (Thursday 8 May).
