Marie von Heyl: Of Occasional Tables and Alternative Endings
Exeter Phoenix
This exhibition of new work by Berlin based Marie von Heyl employs video, installation, drawing and text to explore an ongoing interest in domestic interiors and mundane objects that is central to her practice. Her work playfully dances around things, pointing at the unexpectedly beautiful, tracing the uncanny and tapping into the absurd. Often triggered by linguistic nitpicking, she aims to catch objects in the act of transcending their original context. The exhibition runs until 5 June and the gallery is open 10am-5.30pm. www.exeterphoenix.org.uk

Prints from the Kitchen Table

Mary Harold, a silk screen printer who lives near Okehampton, is exhibiting her work at A la Ronde  until Wednesday 4 June. Often printing onto reclaimed materials such as blankets, tablecloths and sheets, she says of her work: “My inspiration mostly comes from nature, usually my garden or the wild countryside around where I live.” Admission to the exhibition in the stable and tea-room is free during normal opening times.
