Crowds will be racing to Exeter Racecourse annual Super Sunday meeting on February 12 when a combination of fantastic prize money, top class racing and a terrific savings on pre-booked tickets make it one of the most popular days in its calendar.

Exeter Racecourse’s famous racing Clydesdales provided a magnificent spectacle on Sunday when their flying feathers and huge white faces had an enthusiast crowd enthralled as they raced in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance.

Solo, Siryl Allan, Frankie Doodle, Midge and Tom Parker were ridden by professional jockeys Noel Fehily, Aiden Coleman, Daryl Jacob, Sean Bowen, Tom Bellamy and James Best who urged them down the two-furlong stretch in front of their appreciative audience.

Dartmoor’s racing Clydesdales are back at Exeter Racecourse on November 20, when the track celebrate Devon Day. Professional jockeys will on board the gentle giants urging them down the home straight in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance.

The race, which comes under starters’ orders at 12.20pm, is an annual highlight on Exeter’s calendar, with the gentle magnificence of these huge horses drawing cheers of admiration from the crowd.

Free entry for students at Exeter Racecourse

Students with a valid student card have the opportunity to come racing at Exeter for free on Wednesday, November 9.

The annual student-free-entry day includes a behind-the scenes-tour that starts an hour before the first race and gives an insight into a day at the races.

General manager Daniel Thompson said: “It’s a fun day with a good quality card in prospect and we hope students take up the opportunity.”

Devon’s richest raceday takes place on Tuesday (November 1) when high class horses will be heading to Exeter Racecourse to contest the grade 2 188Bet Haldon Gold Cup.
