Top names are heading to Bicton Arena International Horse Trials on August 19-21 including riders who are in action at the Rio Olympics.

British team riders Kitty King and William Fox-Pitt, New Zealand’s Jock Paget, Australia’s Sam Griffiths and Ireland’s Padraig McCarthy are among the riders who will be heading to the Devon venue where organisers have pulled out all the stops to attract competitors with free stabling and bedding in the international classes and a wealth of additional prizes.

Exeter Racecourse has announced it is sponsoring at Bicton Arena’s international horse trials which take place in East Devon on August 19 to 21. The racecourse is supporting the prestigious CIC2* which includes a £500 prize to the highest placed seven-year-old horse competing in the class.

Celebrate The Queen's birthday on Ladies' Night at Exeter Races

Celebrations will be in full swing on Ladies’ Night at Exeter Racecourse this year which beautifully coincides with Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday on Thursday, April 21.

There will be special footage of Her Majesty The Queen shown on the big screen, a bottle of champagne will be given to the 90th person through the gate and to the person who buys the 90th racecard and owners of horses running in the Many Happy Returns HM The Queen Handicap Hurdle will be asked of they can sport a special crown designs on their hindquarters.

Calling budding young artists

Exeter Racecourse has launched its fabulous annual art competition for children aged 11 and under with the overall winner featured on the front page of its racecard on Family Day, Wednesday, March 30. Exeter want children to come up with vibrant designs which depict the colour and vibrancy of a day at the races, from the brightly coloured silks worn by jockeys, to smiling faces in the crowds. There are prizes to third place in each category – seven and under and eight to 11 - including family tickets to the races. Carrots for winners at Exeter Racecourse

The Devon National Handicap Chase will take centre stage on Haldon Hill on Friday, February 26 and Exeter Racecourse is rewarding each horse that runs with a net of carrots and a box of polos.

Exeter Racecourse is celebrating the combination of its prestigious Super Sunday raceday fixture on February 14 and Valentine’s Day with a special offer with two Grandstand and Paddock tickets available for just £14.

Police appeal after woman suffers serious head injuries

At approximately 8am on Saturday 16th January, a single vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the C19. This is the minor road linking the A380 and A38 near to Exeter Racecourse.

A silver Vauxhall Corsa left the road and collided with a tree. One woman in her 20’s suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth by air ambulance, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Mid Winter Racing at Exeter Racecourse

Racing continues at Exeter next Tuesday (January 19) with its mid winter fixture when hats, gloves and scarves will be the order of the day for those enjoying a day of sporting action.
