Exeter Racecourse is celebrating the combination of its prestigious Super Sunday raceday fixture on February 14 and Valentine’s Day with a special offer with two Grandstand and Paddock tickets available for just £14.

With children aged 17 and under get into the races for free, it is the prefect opportunity to celebrate the most romantic day of the year with a day at the races. Everyone who pre-books will also be entered into a special draw to win a romantic break at the Hartnoll Hotel, which nestles in Devon’s Exe Valley.

Police appeal after woman suffers serious head injuries

At approximately 8am on Saturday 16th January, a single vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the C19. This is the minor road linking the A380 and A38 near to Exeter Racecourse.

A silver Vauxhall Corsa left the road and collided with a tree. One woman in her 20’s suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth by air ambulance, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Mid Winter Racing at Exeter Racecourse

Racing continues at Exeter next Tuesday (January 19) with its mid winter fixture when hats, gloves and scarves will be the order of the day for those enjoying a day of sporting action.

Racing UK sponsor the six race card which begins at 1.35pm with a two mile maiden hurdle. Other races include a mares’ handicap hurdle, a novices’ handicap chase, a two mile three furlong handicap chase, a handicap hurdle and a maiden hurdle.

Business Network (SW) autumn lunch

Over 60 members of the local business community attended the autumn networking lunch of Business Network (SW) held at Exeter Racecourse.

A pre-lunch seminar was given by WESC Foundation, The Specialist Centre for Visual Impairment, in conjunction with Glen King PR/Marketing.

Devon’s richest raceday takes place next Tuesday (November 3) when high class horses will be heading to Exeter Racecourse to contest the grade 2 Sportingbet Haldon Gold Cup.

The prestigious two-mile one-furlong race is fast, furious and spectacular and with £62,500 in prize money it’s one that trainers make an early season target.

The legendary racehorse Best Mate will be remembered at Exeter Racecourse next Tuesday when a beginners’ chase is staged in his name.

His owner Jim Lewis will make his annual pilgrimage to the course to present the prize to the winning owners of the race and to lay a wreath in his memory. Exeter’s new season begins tomorrow (Oct 8) with the first of six races off at 2.25pm. Heavy showers at the beginning of the week mean the going is good, good to soft in places, resulting in a strong card of runners.

Students offered a leg up in horseracing industry

Students with a love of horse racing are being given the opportunity to apply to become Exeter Racecourse’s official ambassador and partake in a series of work experience days aimed at giving them a leg up in the industry.

The role, which lasts from November 1 until the end of May, includes placements with various work providers in the industry to provide an insight into the many and varied roles available in the racing industry.
