Crowds will be racing to Exeter Racecourse annual Super Sunday meeting on February 12 when a combination of fantastic prize money, top class racing and a terrific savings on pre-booked tickets make it one of the most popular days in its calendar.

A pair of pre-booked Grandstand and Paddock tickets cost just £15 (children aged 17 and under go racing for free) and with previous years boasting racing of the highest calibre, the racecourse is once again looking forward to welcoming the crowds to Haldon Hill.

General manager Daniel Thompson said: “It really is racing straight out of the top draw, and with the Festival just over four weeks away, there will be plenty of quality runners in action on course for that meeting. The meeting is hugely popular and the atmosphere is always really buoyant. With such a good offer on tickets, it’s the perfect opportunity for those who might be new to racing to come along to their local track and enjoy a day out.”

The seven race card is worth over £100k in prize money and features the first leg of the prestigious veterans’ chase series where horses that are as familiar to race loving people as premier players are to football fans are sure to be in the line.

There’s also a Pertemps qualifier, a listed novices’ hurdle and a three-mile graduation chase.

he meeting has proved a stepping stone in the past for some of racing’s brightest stars, not least the Harry Fry-trained Unowhatimeanharry who won the Pertemps qualifier last year, went on to taste victory in the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and is now vying for favourtism in the Sun Bet Stayers’ Hurdle.

In 2015 Randox Grand National victor, Many Clouds, galloped home to a three-quarters of a lengths success in the 2m3f novices’ hurdle and other note worthy winners include Melodic Rendezvous, Vieux Lion Rouge and Vibrato Valtat.

Children’s entertainment, including the poplar Party Ponies, will keep younger racegoers entertained during the meeting, which is firmly established as a favourite among the Westcountry’s sports’ loving fans.

The first of seven races comes under starters’ orders at 1.50pm. A free bus leaves Exeter St David’s at 12.10pm and the Bus & Coach Station at 12.25pm, returning half an hour after the last race.

Children aged 17 and under race free. To pre-book tickets call the ticket hotline 03445 793 005or book online at Exeter-racecourse.co.uk
