Wrap up for Exeter Racecourse’s winter warmer on Wednesday, January 24 when six races get underway at 1.40pm.

Smarkets sponsor the card, which includes two maiden hurdle races, a mares’ handicap hurdle, a novice chase, a two mile three furlong handicap chase and a handicap hurdle. Expect one or two decent types to be in the line up.

Jump racing on Haldon Hill is the perfect opportunity to be a part of the excitement as the countdown to the spring festival begins and with eight more meetings during the second half of its season, the action come thick and fast.

Super Sunday is on February 11 during an all-encompassing sporting weekend for the city of Exeter. Exeter Chiefs and Exeter City are in action on Saturday and then our ever-popular Sunday meeting will take centre stage with in excess of £100,000 in prize money on offer.

The Devon National on February 23 will see some of the best loved staying chasers in action, on March 6 all roads lead to the Cheltenham Festival with the racecourse will staging its own preview evening after racing; Peter Rabbit will be heading to the racecourse on Family Fun Day, April 8; hunter chases will start to take centre stage as point-to-pointers get their chance in the spotlight during the spring meetings and ladies’ night on May 8 will showcase the more glamorous side of racing.

General manager Jack Parkinson said: “Racing on Haldon hill is always really good fun, no matter what the weather – just bring you hats and gloves! Outdoor sport gives you a feeling of being part of the action, and its always a heart warming occasion at Exeter.”

A free bus from Exeter St David’s 12 noon and Exeter Bus and Coach Station 12.15pm is available before and after racing and children aged 17 and under come racing free. For further information visit www.exeter-racecourse.co.uk
