On Wednesday 2 September, five Exeter College media students took part in a training exercise designed to test Plymouth City Council and the MOD’s contingency planning.
The exercise, codenamed Short Sermon, tested the reactions of these organisations and local authorities in the event of nuclear reactor accident.
During the day around 27 separate groups, including students from the College, took part in playing and responding at operational, tactical and strategic levels across Exeter, Plymouth and Truro.

The Student Lock-In is set to return to Princesshay Shopping Centre for the third year running on Wednesday 2 October from 18.30-21.00. The shopping centre will be closed for exclusive use by students from Exeter and the surrounding area for one night only.

Exeter College has announced this week that it has purchased the National House building in Queen Street and will open it at the start of the new term in September with future plans to create a dedicated Computing, Maths and Science Centre for the College's students.

Exeter College is celebrating being top of the world again, with two of its International Baccalaureate students achieving top spots of an outstanding 44 points out of a possible 45 in the international qualification results.
The two were amongst the highly successful 37 students completing their two-year diploma this year who achieved average points of 34.2 out of a possible 45.
