College graduates celebrate at Exeter Cathedral today

Around 160 Exeter College higher education students took to the streets today (26th October) as they donned their caps and gowns to process through the city for their Graduation Ceremony, held at Exeter Cathedral at 2.30pm.

£1.1 Million Lottery boost for College Sport in the SW

The students of Exeter College and indeed across the South West can look forward to improved sporting opportunities thanks to new National Lottery funding from Sport England. A total of £17 million of investment will fund ‘College Sport Maker’ roles in Further Education across the country. Within the South West, 11 of these new full time posts have been awarded.

Students at Exeter College celebrated National Poetry Day with a range of events, including a visit from performance poet Matt Harvey.

Over 130 students packed the college's Theatre at the Centre for Creative Industries on Queen Street as Mr Harvey entertained them with anecdotes and poetry.

He shared with them some of his published work from his recent anthologies "Where earwigs dare" and "The hole in the sum of my parts". Students also had an opportunity to ask him questions about his career, inspirations and techniques.

Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines has launched a new academy at Exeter College. The Michael Caines Academy, in partnership with City & Guilds, will offer places to eight trainee chefs and eight front-of-house students, aged between 16 and 19. The two-year course begins in September and students will be able to work their way up to the City & Guilds Level 3 Diplomas. They will also take part in further courses beyond the initial two years, potentially leading to a Level 4 City & Guilds qualification. Students look to turn Tik Tok videos into viral hits

Media students from Exeter College have been putting their social media skills to the test by creating a series of TikTok videos to be used by Devon and Cornwall Police.

As part of their course, the UAL Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology, students have been working with the force’s Corporate Communications and Engagement team to create the short social videos which will feature on Devon and Cornwall Police’s new TikTok channel.
