Exeter City's Elliott Chamberlain to spend a month at Bath

Exeter City forward Elliott Chamberlain has joined Bath City on a month-long loan deal.

Chamberlain, whose wages at St James Park are paid by the 1931 Fund (a group of supporters who every year opt to fund a players’ wages), has been progressing well in training, and now has the opportunity to play more first-team football over the next four weeks with the Romans. The Devon Derby between Exeter and Torquay at Plainmoor ended 1-1, thanks to penalties by Rene Howe and Alan Gow .

Bennett was penalised early in the match allowing Howe to convert, but Gow (pictured) drew a foul minutes from the end to offer the Grecians a lifeline.

He stepped up himself to slot in and earn City a point.

Man arrested for possession of smoke grenade

A man from Torquay has been charged with possession of a smoke grenade after he was stopped attempting the enter Plainmoor at the Torquay United v Exeter City match last night (Tuesday 15th January 2013).

The 18-year-old was arrested after he was found to be in possession of the device at about 7.50pm.

He was detained at Torquay Custody Centre before being charged with the offence under the Sporting Events Act 1985.

He was then bailed to appear before South and West Devon MC on 31 January 2013.

Struggling Plymouth Argyle sack Carl Fletcher

Exeter City rivals Plymouth Argyle have sacked manager Carl Fletcher after 16 months in charge of the struggling League Two side.

Argyle are only two points clear of the relegation zone after losing 2-1 at home to John Ward's Bristol Rovers. Ward was set to become Argyle director of football just three weeks ago, until being offered the job as Rovers boss.
