Rob Baxter’s squad strengthening for next season and beyond has continued with the signings today of two more new faces.
Heading to Sandy Park next season on two-year deals will be lock Toby Salmon from Championship side Rotherham Titans and winger Tom O’Flaherty, who arrives in Devon having been on dual-registered terms with the Ospreys and Bridgend Ravens.
The duo follow England international Matt Kvesic in agreeing terms with the Chiefs, who are poised to make further announcements shortly on more new recruits and current squad members agreeing new contracts.
Following the launch of Absurd Breakfasts, the Exeter Chiefs boys were invited along to Absurd Bird Exeter to try out the tasty dishes on the new menu. Nine of the players gathered at the restaurant, with empty stomachs, ready to take on an assortment of unique and typically ‘absurd’ dishes.
The players chose from the likes of Crispy Bacon on Waffles, served with maple syrup, Absurd Benedict (waffle, fried chicken, poached egg, hollandaise) and Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs, with a white sauce – safe to say, there were clean plates all round!
So often the bridesmaids when it comes to Europe and the Champions Cup, maybe this is the year where ASM Clermont Auvergne have their big day in the sun.
For a number of years the French giants have got halfway down the aisle, only to be jilted right at the last minute by a bitter rival who has subsequently claimed the prized crown.
On this latest showing, however, Europe’s elite need to take serious note. Exeter Chiefs were not only dumped out of this season’s competition by a ruthless first half showing at the Stade Marcel Michelin, but it was the manner in which they...

Italian international Michele Campagnaro says confidence is high within the Exeter Chiefs camp ahead of Saturday's European Champions Cup trip to ASM Clermont Auvergne.
After a disappointing start to their Pool 5 campaign, Rob Baxter's side have bounced back in their last two fixtures, recording a win at Bordeaux-Begles last month, before seeing off Ulster 31-19 at Sandy Park last Sunday.
Those two victories have been part of a stunning run of form from the Chiefs, which has seen them lose only once in their last nine games, and has helped to lift them from the foot of...
Matters in the Aviva Premiership may take a step back for the next month, but for Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter there can be no let up in intensity from his in-form side as they prepare for a crucial block of cup fixtures.
Having lost just once in their last eight matches in English rugby’s top flight, Devon’s finest have moved nicely into the division’s top three, and in prime position to attack what will be an exciting second half to the season.
In the Cups, the Anglo-Welsh version – which resumes in a fortnight’s time with a home date against Wasps – is also in a...

“Looking at it from the other side of the world you probably don’t realise how full on it is here,” said the 33-year-old forward. “Now I’ve been here a few months you see how...

In welcoming Kvesic to Sandy Park, Baxter – who had tried to sign the former Worcester Warriors player before his move to Gloucester – said: “We were probably a little disappointed not to sign him when he moved from Worcester initially. We would have liked to have signed him...
