Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter hopes Don Armand (pictured) will see out the rest of his career at Sandy Park.

The influential back-row forward, together with lock Jonny Hill, have both been handed new two-year contracts by the Premiership club that will extend their stay in Devon until at least the summer of 2019.

Baxter has spoken in recent weeks about his desire to tie down the long-term futures of a number of players within his first-team squad - and this latest news will be warmly welcomed not only by those in power at Sandy Park, but also by the wider Chiefs...

Parling savours away-day success

Exeter lock Geoff Parling described Friday night’s 34-15 win over former club Leicester Tigers as one of the biggest of his career as the Chiefs maintained their push for the Aviva Premiership play-offs.

Parling delivered a man of the match display on his own stomping ground, helping the Devon club to not only all five points on the night, but also helping them secure a crucial league double over the Tigers.

With just five rounds of the scheduled season remaining, the 33-year-old believes there is no reason he and his team-mates can’t maintain their impressive form and...

Baxter delighted with win

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter could not hide his delight after his side underlined their play-off credentials in the Aviva Premiership by downing Leicester Tigers 34-15 at Welford Road

Despite trailing to a fifth-minute try from Italian international Michele Rizzo, the visitors dominated the remainder of the contest to collect maximum reward and close the gap on table-topping Wasps to just a single point.

Kai Horstmann (pictured), Stu Townsend and Mitch Lees all crossed the line, while a penalty try was also converted by England international Henry Slade, who finished...

Tigers 15 Chiefs 34

Exeter’s Premiership history maybe in its infancy when compared to that of hosts Leicester Tigers, but the Chiefs showed they are maturing into a formidable force with this impressive victory at Welford Road.

Rob Baxter’s side maintained their pursuit of table-topping Wasps by taming the Tigers in their own lair, recording a maximum haul of points courtesy of a penalty try and further touchdowns from Kai Horstmann Stuart Townsend and Mitch Lees.

England international Henry Slade weighed in with the remainder of the points for the visitors, who despite trailing in the early...

Chiefs side to face Tigers

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter says his side will need to turn up the intensity levels ahead of this evening's Aviva Premiership encounter with Leicester Tigers at Welford Road (7:45pm).

Although undefeated in the top flight since Bath won at Sandy Park at the end of October, the Chiefs have spent this week gearing up for arguably one of the toughest tests on the Premiership calendar.

Having one just once at the home of the Tigers since their elevation into English rugby’s top tier in 2010, Baxter and his in-form team will be looking to improve their win ratio with a...

Baxter further strengthens his squad ahead of next season

Rob Baxter has spoken of his delight after three more of his current Exeter Chiefs squad today agreed new contracts with the Aviva Premiership club.

Experienced back-row forwards Kai Horstmann and Julian Salvi (pictured) have each signed new one-year deals, while lock Ollie Atkins has extended his stay at Sandy Park by a further two years.

News of the trio agreeing terms comes hot on the heels of head coach Baxter last week confirming similar outcomes for front-row trio Ben Moon, Shaun Malton and Carl Rimmer, as well as backs Michele Campagnaro, Phil Dollman and Olly...

'Full steam ahead' for Waldrom

Thomas Waldrom insists it’s ‘full steam ahead’ for him and his Exeter Chiefs team-mates as they look to book their place in this season’s Aviva Premiership play-offs.

Having helped Rob Baxter’s side move into second spot with victory over Newcastle Falcons last weekend, Exeter’s free-scoring No.8 will check into familiar surroundings again this Friday night when Devon’s finest prepare to tackle fellow high-flyers Leicester Tigers at Welford Road.

With just six rounds of the scheduled season remaining, Waldrom – who spent four years with the Midlanders before moving to the...

Jack Yeandle believes Exeter Chiefs will need to replicate their defensive showing from the weekend for the whole 80 minutes when they travel to Leicester Tigers in the Aviva Premiership on Friday night (7:45pm).

Having turned round 17-14 up against Newcastle Falcons on Saturday, Rob Baxter’s side produced a solid defensive display at the break to wrap up a 36-14 success that lifted them to second in the current standings.

Yeandle insists hard work put in on the training ground, coupled with a few half time tweaks by the coaching staff, proved key in them clocking up their...

Parling pleased after Chiefs 'tough out' win over Falcons

Geoff Parling praised his Exeter Chiefs team-mates for grinding out a “tough victory” against Newcastle Falcons at the weekend.

The England and British Lions international featured for the whole 80 minutes as Rob Baxter’s side moved up to second in the Aviva Premiership standings thanks to their 36-14 win at Sandy Park.

Keen to build on their success of the week previous at Worcester Warriors, the Chiefs again had to overcome a stuttering start to the match before producing a solid second half show that once again yielded maximum reward.

For Parling – himself a...
