September events at A La Ronde

The summer may be over but there are still plenty of reasons to visit A La Ronde, the sixteen-sided National Trust house near Exmouth.

Come along to Heritage Open Weekend on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 of September and enjoy free entry to the house and grounds throughout the day.

Visit the Dartmoor Conservation Garden on Sunday 6 September 2015 and enjoy a fascinating FREE mini moss and lichen safari with Jen Howard, Education Officer with Plantlife, the UK’s leading wild plant conservation charity.

Mosses are very small plants which absorb moisture through their leaves. They act like sponges and can absorb huge amounts of water. Lichens are made up of a mutual relationship between a fungus and an alga. The fungus forms the main body of the lichen providing protection for the alga while the alga manufactures food using the sun's energy.

For as long as she lives Zdenka is determined to tell her inspiring story of great love, and of what happened in the Holocaust, to as many people as possible. The Tin Ring is a unique account of how a seventeen-year-old girl survived the horrors of the Nazi concentration camps.

Fun all at Hospiscare fete in Exeter

Support your local hospice by coming along to our Hospiscare Fete on Saturday September 5, 1pm to 5pm, on the lawn outside Wonford Hospital in Dryden Road, Exeter.

We've got a BBQ, afternoon tea, bouncy castle, face painting, crafts, toys, books, gifts and lots of games and a display of birds of prey.

Our Hospiscare complementary therapy team will be giving massages.
