Come and join us in the beautiful seaside village of Branscombe for a fun-filled afternoon at our 2nd annual Harvest Fair! Dog Show, Village Show competition, entertainment, music, magic, storytelling, traditional games, children's activities, WI Craft Tent, a great variety of stalls, vintage vehicles, BBQ, cakes & cream teas, licensed bar… and hopefully some sunshine!

BHF is a fundraising event for community organisations and charities.

Any proceeds from the fair itself will be invested into next year's event, plus a donation to the village fireworks.

Climbing event hits new peak

Elite climbers from across the globe descended – or should that be ascended – on Exeter this weekend.

They were taking part in the Quay Climbing Centre’s Deep Water Solo event, which sees a seven-metre wall built into the canal basin. Competitors climb without ropes and drop in to the canal when they lose their grip.

And there were also some familiar local faces who were trying their hand at the sport for the first time.

Spectators' guide to Devon Stage of the Tour of Britain

Spectators have 93 miles (137km) of Devon’s roads to choose from when it comes to watching the Devon Stage Tour of Britain on Friday 9 September.

Devon County Council, supported by East Devon District Council, Teignbridge District Council and Dartmoor National Park, will host Stage Six of The Tour, starting in Sidmouth and finishing at Haytor.

Band receives double award from Devon law firm

West Country band The Stylers, who recently triumphed in a competition to spot young musical talent across the counties of Devon, Dorset and Somerset, have received their trophies from key event partner Beviss & Beckingsale.

The Stylers, from Dorchester, beat off stiff competition from across the three counties at the TBOB Battle of the Bands competition, held in the Dorset village of Thorncombe this summer. Edita Berger will be visiting Exeter and Plymouth in September to give talks on Buddhism. Edita is from Hamburg and has been a student of Lama Ole Nydahl for 33 years. Since Lama Ole asked her to travel and start teaching, she has travelled to many countries sharing the inspiring and timeless teachings of Buddhism. Family-friendly fundraising event

A Fundraising Event has been planned for Exeter Forest School Kindergarten, to raise funds for a new outdoor classroom, to enable young children to learn and experience the outdoors.

The event will bring together families across Exeter at Riverside Leisure Centre on Saturday 3rd September from 3pm until 7pm to enjoy a range of games and activities for all ages, including a giant inflatable assault course and forest school activities. A day of discovery at Cricklepit Mill

A wildlife garden and historic mill in the heart of Exeter will be opening its doors to the public for a special summer open day. The ‘Water and Wildlife’ event is being held at Cricklepit Mill, the headquarters of Devon Wildlife Trust, on Friday 12 August, 10am – 3pm. Quay climbing competition to make a return!

EXETER’S Quay will be buzzing this August Bank Holiday weekend as it plays host to some of the world’s top climbers at a spectacular climbing competition.

Thousands of spectators are expected to attend the thrilling climbing event on the Quay - and if you fancy dropping off a seven metre wall into the canal - they’ll also be a chance for novices to have a go.

Quay Climbing is staging its third annual Deep Water Solo Festival of Climbing over the August Bank Holiday weekend; the event sees a temporary seven metre high climbing wall erected in the city’s canal basin.
