Exeter Cathedral School (ECS) has announced the launch of its new Awards Scheme.
ECS, which is Exeter’s oldest School and which educates the Choristers of Exeter Cathedral, has created the Devon Award, a 100% paid-for place at the School in Year 7 and Year 8, available to Year 6 pupils currently at Devon LEA state primary schools. Offering a 100% remission in school fees, the Devon Award is designed for gifted pupils who could make a significant contribution to life at ECS. Exeter Community Energy (ECOE) is backing national Fuel Poverty Awareness Day on Friday 23 February – as figures show that more 6,000 people in the area are struggling with their fuel bills.
The day marks the end of the Warm Homes Campaign, run by fuel poverty charity National Energy Action (NEA), which aims to raise awareness of the problem and some of the solutions available for those struggling to heat their homes affordably.

Problem-solving powers may help to explain why grey squirrels have taken over from native red squirrels in the UK, new research says.
