QualitySolicitors Dunn & Baker, Property Executive, Clare Handley, is raising funds for Breast Cancer Care by completing the Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu in April. She will then travel to the Amazon Rainforest to explore the trails and waterways on foot and by boat.

Clare decided to fundraise after sadly losing her mum to breast cancer in 2014.

Library charity appoints two new independent trustees

Libraries Unlimited, the charity responsible for running Devon’s library service, has appointed two new independent trustees to its Board following an open recruitment process.

Richard Watts and Morgen Witzel will officially join the charity’s Board in February. As a mutual organisation, Libraries Unlimited has a Board of 11 trustees, made up of independent, staff and community trustees, whose role it is to help shape the strategic direction of the charity in achieving its aims and ambitions.

Scheme to help Devon's homeless learn a trade launched

A pilot scheme to help Devon’s homeless gain the skills, qualifications and confidence needed to get their lives back on track and pursue a career in hair and barbering, has been launched.

The scheme gives new hope to homeless and vulnerably housed adults who want to learn a trade so they can support themselves and their loved ones.

Man loses finger after assault at Devon railway station

A man had to have his finger amputated after an assault at Teignmouth railway station in Devon.

British Transport Police would like to speak to the men shown in the CCTV images in connection with the incident.

The offence happened on Saturday 23 December 2017 at around 10.45pm.

The victim, a 45-year-old man, was assaulted by a group of people in the station car park. He remembers regaining consciousness in the car park.

He believed he had minor injuries but the following day noticed what appeared to be a bite to his little finger.
