Stage by Stage Celebrates 25 Years in Style!

For 25 years Stage by Stage theatre arts school has been presenting large-scale shows at such city venues as the Barnfield Theatre, Exeter Corn Exchange and Exeter Northcott, as well as further afield across the county and even at the Edinburgh Festival.

This Easter, Libraries Unlimited invites young people to help in the search for a missing Devon librarian.

Exeter, St Thomas and Topsham libraries are looking for people aged 12 and over (or younger, if accompanied by an adult) to help solve the mystery of The Lost Librarian , as part of a fun and interactive puzzle trail installed by Libraries Unlimited, thanks to funding from Arts Council England.

RECORD-BREAKING boyband Westlife are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their first No. 1 single with a reunion tour that is set to mark one of pop’s most sensational comebacks.

An RSPCA officer was called in to help a collapsed fox that turned out to be taxidermy.

Inspector Ellie Burt went to Farm Hill, Exeter, in Devon, on Monday (8 April) after a local resident grew concerned for a fox that had been hiding under a bush in the area.

She said: “The fox was described as lethargic and collapsed in the undergrowth. The caller said it had been losing weight in recent weeks and hadn’t moved for the past few days.

Queen’s Drive Space reopens for new season of fun!

Queen’s Drive Space in Exmouth has reopened for a new season with a top line-up of entertainment and fun planned for all the family from now until September.

The Donkey Sanctuary is granted NGO status

International animal welfare charity, The Donkey Sanctuary, has this week been granted Non-Governmental Organisation status by the United Nations.

The accreditation is evidence of The Donkey Sanctuary’s growing international reputation and allows the organisation more opportunities to participate at a higher level on the world stage.

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), which runs Little Harbour children’s hospice in St Austell, has been celebrating the work of its dedicated community volunteers while searching for more to join.

A few weeks ago the hospice ran its annual Friends Group Conference. This event gave various members of Little Harbour’s fundraising team and care team the opportunity to thank community volunteers from Cornwall, Plymouth and the surrounding areas for their hard work. Exeter in the running for greenest marathon

Running events in Exeter are going green, with plastic water bottles used by the competitors in the upcoming Exeter Live Better Marathon set to be gathered up, recycled and turned into new water bottles.

The environmental commitment has been forged by event organisers Exeter City Community Trust (ECCT) and recycling experts Exeter City Council.

Runners in the Exeter Live Better Marathon and half marathon event on 19 May will be able to rehydrate and then recycle their bottles in special containers further down the route.
