Hooker Jack Yeandle praised the defensive qualities of the Exeter Chiefs as they consolidated fourth place in the Aviva Premiership table with victory at Sale Sharks.

Exeter Leukaemia Fund have taken a leaf out of well-known TV presenter Kirstie Allsopp’s book and refreshed the ELF shop in Crediton without spending a single penny! Police search for missing Tiverton woman

Police are appealing for information to locate a woman reported missing from the Tiverton area. Concerns are growing for Ann Holding, 48, who has been reported to police as missing from her home in Cadbury, between Tiverton and Crediton. Ann was last seen yesterday morning, Tuesday 15 October, at her home address. She is believed to be in possession of a green Peugeot 206 registration number Y836 WDS. Crediton woman knits 400 ducks for ELF

When Crediton volunteer, Lynne Cooper knitted her first duck for Exeter Leukaemia Fund back in March 2012, she had no idea that her creation would go on to be a global adventurer and that she would knit 400 more! Lynne, who has supported ELF for several years, is also a very talented painter as well as a creative knitter. Devon and Somerset fire crews tackle combine harvester fire in Sandford

Several calls were received to reports of a combine harvester on fire in a field at Middle Henstill Farm, Sandford, Crediton this afternoon (10 August).

One fire appliance from Crediton and one from Exeter Danes Castle were mobilised to the incident. On arrival crews requested further assistance from Middlemoor to attend with their light off road pumping appliance.

Crews extinguished the fire using approx 1557 litres of compressed air foam, one C02 extinguisher. three beaters and the light pump were used to extinguish 2 acres of cut corn and hedgerow.

Exeter Leukaemia Fund would love to hear from anyone, whether new to ELF, current or previous supporters, who are interested in helping to form or be part of a new supporter group in Crediton and the surrounding areas. Western Counties Heavy Horse Society Annual 'Working' Show

A special show event for all lovers of horses and agricultural events.

From Plough to Loaf will be demonstrated; ploughing, rolling, harrowing and drilling. Corn will be cut with a binder drawn by three shire horses. Brae will be baked on the field and a commentator will explain the whole process.

Other ring events include an opportunity to 'Have a Go' at ploughing following instruction.

Large fire leads to firefighter’s art exhibition

A firefighter who was one of the first on the scene of a major fire in Crediton has created an exhibition charting the history of the buildings involved.

The fire in Buller Square on 2 February 2012 severely damaged five historic thatched cottages and adjoining properties were also damaged by the fire. Ten fire crews were fighting the fire at its height and firefighters were at the scene for three days.

Copplestone Parent Teacher Association has announced the first Copplestone Music Proms in the Park is to feature Exeter Children's Orchestra.

Simon Archer, Chairman of the CPTA, said “This is a major coup for us. To get the ECO to perform in Copplestone is a great honour and very exciting. We wanted to give the children and parents of Copplestone Primary School a night to remember.”
