Devon Created is a new and exciting festival organised by a new flower festival team at Crediton Parish Church. For over 40 years there has been a flower festival at the church. Chloe's new business has real flour power!

A dream has become a reality for a 21-year-old from Crediton who has launched her own business in the town.

Chloe Burston-Thomas caught the baking bug watching her granny rustling up tasty treats in the family’s farmhouse kitchen.

After leaving school, Chloe studied at Exeter College’s prestigious Michael Caines’s Academy where she honed her skills.

She then spent a couple of years working with her family at Sandford Orchards, followed by a spell at Crediton Coffee Company before deciding to go it alone.

Local mum-trepreneur Laura Skilton celebrates her baby swim school business going national having already helped more than 5,000 children in Devon and Hampshire learn to swim since launching seven years ago.

The Crediton Parish Church Flower Festival is one of the main fundraising events for the upkeep of Holy Cross and many people from our parishes work to make it a very special and memorable week.

The 2019 Festival has the intriguing title ‘Colours of the Wind’ and runs from 10am on Saturday 1st June until 5pm on Thursday 6th June.

Work towards the 2019 Flower Festival began as soon as the 2018 Festival ended.

Racist incidents and hate crimes spark first Crediton Diversity Festival

REPORTS of racist incidents and hate crimes in Crediton are the inspiration behind the first Crediton Diversity Festival, which will be held at the Boniface Centre in Crediton on Saturday, November 10.

Local equalities and diversity campaigner Alan Quick said that reports that people had suffered from racism and other hate crimes locally had inspired him to “do something positive” and organise the event.

HRH The Duke of Gloucester, officially opened Mole Avon Trading’s new £5.2M Country Store in Crediton, Devon on Tuesday 2nd October.

During his visit His Royal Highness met members of staff, company directors and key suppliers to the country store, most of whom are based in Crediton. Prince Richard took the opportunity to view the wide selection of goods that Mole Avon offer their customers, including the new ‘Wellie Wall’ before cutting a cake and unveiling a plaque, to commemorate his visit and the formal opening of the Country Store.

A377 stabilisation scheme on schedule

Work is progressing well on a major stabilisation scheme on the A377 at Chapel Downs in Crediton.

Essential repairs and reconstruction work started earlier this month on a 30 metre stretch, between Queen Elizabeth Drive and Higher Road, where the edge of the road is cracking due to an unstable embankment. The scheme is on schedule to be completed by 12 February.

Highway drainage is being replaced and a retaining wall is being constructed. The road will also be resurfaced.
