John Scott is presently Organist and Director of Music at St Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue, New York (where he directs the renowned choir of men and boys) following a long association with St Paul’s Cathedral, where he was Organist and Director of Music from 1990 until 2004.

A highly regarded choir trainer, composer and arranger, John Scott is widely recognised around the world as one of the leading recitalists, so we are extremely proud to announce his performance here in Exeter, the first recital on the newly restored organ.

WORDS and music inspired by visits to the ancient Beer Quarry Caves are to be performed by children and young people from across the region at a special concert in Exeter Cathedral in the New Year.

A workplace choir from a leading local law firm has performed its first concert to a packed audience of colleagues, family and clients. The Rolling Scowns – a 24 piece choir from law firm Stephens Scown LLP in Exeter – performed a selection of 11 songs at a concert held at St Stephens Church, Exeter. The Rolling Scowns’s repertoire included “Let it Be”, “Black Horse and Cherry Tree” and “Merry Christmas Everyone”. The evening also saw a performance by established local choir, Bel Canto. Young voices raised in praise of Caves

CHILDREN and young people from across the region will come together on Sunday (DEC7) for the second in a series of three B Sharp Voices concerts of music and song inspired by Beer Quarry Caves.

National Trust Christmas concert in Exeter Cathedral

The National Trust Exeter and District Centre are holding their annual Christmas Concert on Tuesday 9 December at Exeter Cathedral.

The centre plays a vital role promoting the work of the charity in the local area and raises money through all kinds of events for conservation and development projects. However, the Christmas concert, which dates back to the 1970s, is the principal event in the Centre’s calendar and has raised over £15,000 in the past 10 years.
