Devon Community Foundation has benefitted from the cycling efforts of Darren Goodman from Exeter-based private property company Eagle One, who recently cycled 143 miles in just one day to raise a fantastic £1,822 for the charity, which supports hundreds of voluntary and community groups throughout Devon.

Terry Waite to open Exeter's new charity boutique

Exeter's new designer charity boutique on Paris Street, Sprout, which raises funds for homeless charity Emmaus, will be officially launched on Wednesday 6th October by Terry Waite, the charity's President and former special envoy to the Archbishop of Canterbury who was taken captive in Lebanon in 1987 whilst negotiating the release of Western hostages. Nearly £6,000 raised for The British Heart Foundation!

The British Heart Foundation is Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Exeter’s chosen charity for 2026.

The charity was chosen by the President of Exeter CII, Theresa Atal, who is also Compliance Director for Trusted Financial Advice (TFA).

Theresa said: “The British Heart Foundation is a charity very close to my heart - excuse the pun. My father had heart issues, and my partner has a defibrillator fitted. Every pound raised, and all donations handed in their shops around the country, help make a difference to people’s lives.”

Exeter Student Donates Hair to The Little Princess Trust

The school community at St James School in Exeter is very proud of student Olivia who has generously donated 15 inches of her hair to The Little Princess Trust, supporting children and young people facing hair loss due to illness.

To complement her donation, Olivia also held a cake sale, raising £117 from the school community. Combined with other fundraising efforts, she has raised a fantastic £232 for the charity.

Frontline workers across Devon are being invited to enjoy a free day at Exeter Racecourse on Sunday 23 November as the course hosts its annual Devon Air Ambulance Raceday, one of the region’s strongest displays of community support for a local lifesaving charity. Charity mentor nears end of epic fundraiser to help young people move on after childhood trauma

The end is in sight for Newton Abbot resident Alex Lyons, who’s closing in on the finale of a gruelling year-long challenge which has taken him right across Devon: running 50 half-marathons in 50 weeks to mark his 50th birthday and raise £10,000 for the local charity Life Chance Trust.

Alex’s 50th and final run will take place at the Torbay Half Marathon on Sunday, 21st September 2025, marking the end of an epic journey by the volunteer mentor to support vulnerable 16 - 25 year olds like ‘K’, now 18, whom Alex has mentored (story attached).
