Six scale Ben Nevis in aid of Exmouth & Lympstone Hospice

The Exeter Daily talks to Lisa Boucher from Exmouth about her recent challenge to scale Ben Nevis with five friends, Ella Mills, Jane Bing, Nadine Richardson, Jan Ackerman and Petrina Shorrock, in aid of Hospiscare.

Why did you choose to raise money for Hospiscare? We all have people in our lives that have been affected by cancer. We wanted to raise money for a local charity so it stays close to home. Why did you choose to climb...

Parachutes not picnics for teddies on Cathedral Green

Hundreds of teddy bears swallowed their fears and went 100ft up in the air on a cherrypicker to do a sponsored parachute jump for charity on Cathedral Green this afternoon.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Exeter and sponsored by Burgoynes Estate Agents, the toys were jumping in aid of the children's ward, Bramble, at the RD&E, as well as fundraising for the cathedral's Third Millennium campaign.

The event was compered by Radio Exe, who announced every bear - as well as its nervous owner below - before they jumped, while the Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service...

However the pride she shows is as much to do with the links John Lewis forges with the local community and how it treats its staff, or partners as it calls them, fairly as it does with the quality products it sells. Despite the mammoth task of...
