Start from the café/old railway carriage, the Tarka Trial, Bideford, then enjoy the 10mile run or cycle to the Puffing Billy pub and back! Join organiser Claire Farrell for this great challenge, bring your friends and family and have some fun!

To participate you are kindly asked for a minimun donation of £3.00 per person on the day, but please be generous and give what you can!

Exeter Outdoor Store Hosts ‘Basecamp’ advice event to inspire local walkers

On Thursday 22 August 2013, GO Outdoors at Marsh Barton Road in Exeter is hosting its first ever event to inspire and advise local walkers considering charity walking challenges this summer.

The event – called the Basecamp – begins at 7pm and will offer the latest walking insights and equipment to help with safety and success for walkers of all abilities.

The Basecamp event celebrates the store’s participation in the first-ever national Britain on Foot 'Walk the World in 80 Days' challenge ( www.gooutdoors.co.uk/80days ).

If you want the challenge of a lifetime and the buzz of taking on one of the top 'authentic' military training courses in the UK then the Royal Marines Endurance Course is for you. Whether it be the thrill of the 'Fun' 4k or the slightly more testing 'Marine' 10k or ulitmately the 17k 'Endurance' event (only held each June) then be sure to find something for everyone at these events.

This is your chance to have the experience of a lifetime and make a difference to someone else's.

You will learn survival skills such as husky driving, ice fishing, cross country skiing, shelter building and more on this eight-day Arctic adventure which takes place in Sweden in March 2014.
