Fed up with dark mornings and wet weather? A launch project in Exeter could be just what you need to brighten your day.

Fun A Day was started in 2004 in Philadelphia, USA by a group of friends wanting to stay creative through the winter. It has since been adopted across the USA and has ventured as far as Dundee, Scotland. This year it hits Exeter. Exeter residents and recent imports Stephen Fisher and Ali Lucas are launching Fun A Day in Exeter, to be conducted through February with an exhibition at Positive Light Projects on 18-19th March, 2023.

A group of students aged 11-13 and their families from Cranbrook Educational Campus have taken part in a ‘ready, steady, cook!’ style series of healthy cooking sessions provided by Axminster charity HALFF (Health and Local Food for Families).

Funded by East Devon District Council via NHS England’s healthy new towns programme, ‘Cranbake’ gave students and families a chance to cook a variety of meals together as part of a four week course.

Great British Bake Off finalist Kimberley Wilson is urging people in Exeter to raise ‘lots of dough’ for the MS Society by getting involved in Cake Break on 20 May, a mouth-watering event aiming to raise over £250,000 to support people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) in the UK.

Children had lots of fun in Exeter’s Princesshay on Saturday (6 June) as they baked muffins in a free charity cookery workshop.

After donning chef’s hats and aprons they got stuck in, a shaking and a baking, making new friends and listening to the crazy instructions from head chef Joe Mann who runs Fun Kitchens.

Bring your children along to Exeter’s Princesshay on Saturday (6 June) between 10am and 3pm for some fabulous free foodie fun in the kitchen.

A road safety campaign which was launched in Devon last year has been so successful, it's to have its own national awareness day.

The My Red Thumb campaign, hit the headlines last May as a multi-agency road safety campaign designed to raise awareness of the risks of distraction specifically associated with using a mobile phone while driving.

The aim of the campaign was to reach as many road users as possible through the use of social media and to use behavioural change techniques to encourage people to change their habits.

Celebrity TV baker Glenn Cosby officially launched the Big Devon Bake Off at Powderham Castle urging bakers to roll up their sleeves.

In a Great British Bake Off style marquee tastefully decorated with patriotic bunting, flowers and herbs Glenn gave details about this fundraising event which will help an essential local charity – Hospiscare.
