Mobile community testing centres in East and West Devon set to go on the road

The first of two brand new state-of-art mobile testing centres goes on the road this week, with its first stop at Exmouth's Foxholes Carpark this Saturday, February 27.

It follows a successful trial of one of the new mobile test centres at Middlemoor last Friday when more than 140 staff were tested for COVID-19.

The two mobile testing centres have been purchased by Devon County Council and will offer rapid COVID-19 tests, with results within the hour.

Exmouth RNLI called to paddleboarders in distress

Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew members launched today following a report of two paddleboarders needing help in the sea off the Exmouth coastline.

At 10.26am today Sunday 28 February 2021 the Exmouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat D-805 George Bearman II was tasked by H.M. Coastguard to a report of two paddleboarders who had become distressed some distance from the shore and found themselves unable to return.

The lifeboat, crewed by Helm, Guy Munnings, and RNLI volunteer crew Mark Cockman and James Edge launched at 10:39am and was able to quickly locate the casualties.
