A ceremony has been held to mark progress on vital infrastructure to support economic growth on the outskirts of Newton Abbot.

The scheme, which will unlock the development of employment land and 2,500 homes, is being funded by the Department for Transport, Devon County Council, the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (HotSWLEP) and Teignbridge District Council. The partners gathered to celebrate recent progress on the project.

This June, wildlife charity People's Trust for Endangered Species (PTES) has launched a brand-new garden survey, 'Map your log pile', to help save endangered stag beetles and other wildlife.

West Country house builder Devonshire Homes has donated a further £2,900 to the William Wates Memorial Trust.

Following its donation of £1,000 back in January, this second donation from Devonshire Homes comes as the property market continues to boom. The vital funds have been raised through Devonshire Homes’ open-market sales where £50 is donated to the Trust for every sale.

EXPERTS are urging Devon people to have regular eye checks to help protect them from glaucoma – one of the leading causes of blindness in the world.

Research shows that by 2035 the number of people living with glaucoma in the UK is expected to increase by 44%.
