Leading Exeter-based paid media agency, Launch, has announced the appointment of Mike Sharp as Operations Director.

Sharp, who joins Launch from digital agency Adapt Worldwide, will take the newly created role within Launch to support the company’s fast growth.

People in Devon have been thanked for taking up their invitation to have a booster Covid-19 dose.

Walk-in clinics have been very busy and extra appointments are being offered, where possible, to meet demand.

During peak demand, people who have booked appointments may be given priority and walk in clinics may be paused temporarily to maintain safe numbers and social distancing.

Dr Sarah Wollaston has been appointed chair of the Integrated Care System for Devon (ICSD) for the next 12 months.

Dr Wollaston, a practising GP in Devon, was MP for Totnes from 2010 to 2019, during which time she served as chair of the Health and Social Care Select Committee in the Commons for five years.

Dr Wollaston succeeds Dame Suzi Leather, who has chaired the Devon health and care system since 2018.

As HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) prepares to issue emails and SMS to Self Assessment customers, the department is reminding them to be on their guard after nearly 800,000 tax-related scams were reported in the last year.

Fraudsters use Self Assessment to try and steal money or personal information from unsuspecting individuals. In the last year alone, HMRC has received nearly 360,000 bogus tax rebate referrals.

A data science expert from the University of Exeter has secured a prestigious new Fellowship, designed to help shape Government policy.

Eco-friendly Christmas decorations for FORCE tree

The FORCE Christmas tree in Princesshay will be trimmed with especially eco-friendly decorations this year.

A group of patients who have been supported by FORCE came together at the charity’s Support and Information Centre to create a wonderful array of decorations from recycled materials.

They are ready in time for the big switch-on of Christmas trees representing a host of local charities this Thursday (November 18).
